After the Show
The applause rings out
And the curtain falls
There’s hustle and madness backstage.
An actor emerges,
Friends and family shout
And autographs are scrawled on a page.
There are flowers and hugs,
And plans to retreat
To a local watering hole.
To recount favorite scenes
And talk highs and lows
Of playing a difficult role.
This is all part of the show
The aftermath, and the afterglow.
